Parenting
I recently took my daughter to see Cheaper by the Dozen 2 with Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt. If you are unfamiliar with this series, the story is about the Bakers –- a family of 12 children –- and the challenges the parents (Martin and Hunt) face in trying to raise 12 kids while dealing with the challenges of everyday life (if you can even imagine!!). At the end of the movie, Steve Martin’s character comes to a realization about parenting and makes the comment: “It’s impossible to be a perfect parent, but there are a million ways to be a great parent.” I loved that comment as it reminded me how important it is not to get caught up in trying to be the “perfect parent.” Here are some insights on what I call “the perfect parent trap” as well as some ideas on a more positive and realistic approach to parenting.....

POLITICAL SCIENCE [political science] the study of government and political processes, institutions, and behavior. Government and politics have been studied and commented on since the time of the ancient Greeks. However, it is only with the general systematization of the social sciences in the last 100 years that political science has emerged as a separate definable area of study. Political science is commonly divided into a number of subfields, the most prominent being political theory, national government, comparative government, international relations, and special areas shared with other social sciences such as sociology, psychology, and economics.

PPC-Advertising
Imagine if you could advertise ONLY to people who have actually expressed an interest in doing business with you? That’s basically what happens whenever a prospective customer or client types a phrase into a search engine that’s relevant to your business. But how do search engines decide which sites are worthy of top placement in their search results? It turns out that some of the results are ranked by the search engine’s computers while others are simply paid advertisements from companies willing to buy their way to the top using Pay Per Click Advertising. Pay Per Click Advertising (PPC for short) is an online advertising format that allows you to buy your way to the top of search results pages for search phrases relevant to your business. Businesses buy advertising on specific search phrases, and are then charged each time a person clicks through to their web site.........

Pregnancy
PREGNANCY [pregnancy] period of time between fertilization of the ovum (conception) and birth , during which mammals carry their developing young in the uterus (see embryo ). The duration of pregnancy in humans is about 280 days, equal to 9 calendar months. After the fertilized ovum is implanted in the uterus , rapid changes occur in the reproductive organs of the mother. The uterus becomes larger and more flexible, enlargement of the breasts begins, and alteration of renal function, blood volume, and blood cell count occur. Movement of the fetus and fetal heartbeat can be detected early in pregnancy. Later, prenatal diagnostic tests such as alpha fetoprotein, amniocentesis , and chorionic villus sampling may be performed as screening measures for congenital defects. Ultrasound , a sonar device using high-frequency wavelengths, is used to detect defects, measure fetal heartbeat, and monitor growth of a fetus........

Public-Speaking
Death is often quoted as the second greatest fear for people. While, public speaking has reigned at number one for quite some time. Although I would pick a speech over death, there was probably a time in my life when I would have seriously considered the choice. In college, Communications was my minor, but I never signed-up for Communications 101 because you had to present in front of the class. I thought I was pretty slick for avoiding the class. Little did I realize my leadership career would place me in presentation situations on a regular basis. Thankfully, I am now fully recovered from my Laliophobia (fear of public speaking). I decided this fear was not going to limit my career. To that end, I attended trainings and performed my own research on presentation skills. Below are seven of the most helpful tips I discovered for becoming a dynamic presenter...
